The staff has reviewed your August 2, 1990 response to NRC Bulletin 89-02, "Stress Corrosion Cracking of High Hardness Type 410 Stainless Steel Internal Preloaded Bolting in Anchor-Darling Model S350W Swing Check Valves or Valves of Similar Design." In your response, you stated that during your review of the safety-related check valves at SONGS 2/3, your review confirmed that neither Anchor-Darling Model S350W swing check valves nor any other check valves of similar design with internal preloaded Type 410 SS bolting are used in safety-related applications. Therefore, we consider this matter closed and review activities under TAC Nos. 74308 and 74309 completed.
