Docket Nos. 50-361 and 50-362 San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Units 2 and 3 Enclosed are sixty-three copies of Amendment No. 24 to the Final Safety Analysis Report (FSAR) for the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, Units 2 and 3 Operating License Applications. This amendment contains (1) revisions to Chapter 13 of the FSAR, which were previously transmitted to the NRC by letter dated April 17, 1981, consistent with the information provided to your staff during tbe Management and Technical Resources Audit conducted on March 3, 4, and 5, 1981, (2) responses to additional NRC questions, and (3) miscellaneous corrections, clarifications and additions to the FSAR information.

Also enclosed are forty copies of Amendment No. 6 to-the "Fire Hazards Analysis (FHA) and Comparison with Appendix A of NRC Branch Technical &

Position 9.5-1, October, 1977." Amendment No. 6 consists of clarifications and additions to the FHA.

Direct distribution of Amendment No. 24 to the FSAR and Amendment i63 No. 6 to the FHA will be made in accordance with the service list provided by SCE's letter of October 29, .1979 to the Commission. An affidavit attesting to p the fact that distribution has been completed will be provided within ten days of amendment docketing.
