KEWAUNEE POWER STATION CERTIFICATION OF PERMANENT REMOVAL OF FUEL FROM THE REACTOR VESSEL By letter dated February 25, 2013 (Reference 1), Dominion Energy Kewaunee, Inc.

(DEK) notified NRC of its intention to permanently cease power operations at Kewaunee Power Station (KPS) pursuant to 10 CFR 50.82(a)(1 )(i). On May 7, 2013, DEK permanently ceased power operations at KPS.

Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.82(a)(1 )(ii), DEK hereby certifies to the NRC that as of May 14, 2013 all fuel has been permanently removed from the KPS reactor vessel and placed into the KPS spent fuel pool. As stated in 10 CFR 50.82(a)(2), upon docketing the certifications for permanent cessation of operations and permanent removal of fuel from the reactor vessel, the 10 CFR Part 50 license no longer authorizes operation of the reactor or emplacement or retention of fuel into the reactor vessel.

DEK has previously submitted a Post-Shutdown Decommissioning Activities Report (Reference 2) in accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 50.82(a)(4)(i) and an updated Irradiated Fuel Management Plan (Reference 3) in accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 50.54(bb).
