Dear Sir or Madam:

On March 12, 2012, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff issued a 10 CFR 50.54(f) letter to all power reactor licensees and holders of construction permits in active or deferred status (Reference 1). Enclosure 3 of Reference 1 contains specific Requested Actions, Requested Information, and Required Responses associated with Recommendation 2.3 for Seismic. This letter provides Luminant Generation Company, LLC's (Luminant) 180-day response to Reference 1 for seismic walkdowns for Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant (CPNPP) Units 1 & 2.

For seismic Recommendation 2.3, (walkdowns), Enclosure 3, item 2 of Reference 1 requires that within 180 days of NRC's endorsement of the walkdown procedure (Reference 2), CPNPP submit its final response for the requested information including a list of any areas that are unable to be inspected due to inaccessibility and a schedule for when the walkdown will be completed.

The enclosure to this letter contains CPNPP's final response to Reference 1, Enclosure 3, Recommendation 2.3, Seismic, consistent with the NRC-endorsed guidance (Reference 2).

Enclosure 1 includes a list of any areas that have not yet been inspected in Unit 1 due to inaccessibility. Luminant will complete the seismic walkdowns for CPNPP Unit 1 during 1RF16 in the spring of 2013 and submit a supplemental report by June 30, 2013.
