- 1. In the response to RAI #1, the licensee stated the following:
"The only anomaly noted was a buckled screen sector in SG B. Specifically, two buckles were noted on one of the loose-parts trapping screen sectors (the sector directly below the feedwater nozzle at the top of downcomer.)"
It is the staff's understanding that these sentences are referring to a section of the loose-parts trapping screen directly below the feedwater nozzle, which has been buckled (Le., bent, wrinkled, deformed) in two places, and according to records, were existing prior to the 2011 SG inspections. Please confirm if our understanding is correct.

- 2. In the SG tube inspection report dated May 17, 2012, the licensee states that the plugging limit was set at 28 percent through wall and that 29 tubes were removed from service due to anti-vibration bar (A VB) wear.
Upon review of the AVB wear indication tables provided in the RAI response from Nov 15, 2012, it appears to the staff that there are only 25 tubes that meet the 28 percent plugging limit. Please clarify.
The attached spreadsheet is provided to show the 29 Plugged tubes from Callaway Refueling Outage 1 R18. Please refer to the first tab titled "All SGS AVB Wear". Note that there are 26 tubes that are plugged due to wear >=28% with 3 additional tubes which were plugged due to having 4+ AVBs engaged with high wear.

Tom, the ESGB staff reviewed the RAI response from Callaway, dated Nov 15, 2012, regarding the 2011 steam generator (SG) tube inspection report and have two questions for clarification. An email response is fine.
