REVISION OF SCHEDULE FOR THE CONDUCT OF REVIEW OF THE GRAND GULF NUCLEAR STATION, LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION (TAC NO. ME 7385)
Dear Mr. Perito:
By letter dated October 28, 2011, Entergy Operations, Inc. (Entergy), submitted an application pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Part 51 and 10 CFR Part 54, to renew the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station, Unit 1 (GGNS), operating license NPF-29, for review by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). This letter is to inform you of a change in the environmental review schedule for the GGNS license renewal review.
The NRC staff requires this additional time to accommodate review of your responses to requests for additional information and clarifications associated with our review of severe accident mitigation alternatives and to allow for internal review of the SEIS in a manner which balances the internal workload across numerous ongoing reviews.
