I primarily manage technical and regulatory reviews for the licensing actions associated with my assigned nuclear power reactor. From May 2005 through March 2012 I was assigned as the licensing project manager for Indian Point Nuclear Generating Unit Nos. 2 and 3. I plan the activities associated with changes to the plant license, which includes the Technical Specifications, and issue the revisions to the license after receiving the appropriate reviews and approvals.

Employment History:

U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission 2000-Present Project manager in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, Rockville, MD. Plan and manage all licensing actions for a reactor site. Prepare official agency documents such as safety evaluations, exemptions, ASME code reliefs, responses to Congressional and public citizen inquiries, and Federal Register notices.

Carolina Power & Light Company 1998-2000 Superintendent of Electrical/I&C Engineering, H.B. Robinson Nuclear Plant, Hartsville, SC.

Manager of the Electrical Engineering Unit, which was comprised of three subunits (Systems Engineering, Design Engineering and Configuration Management) responsible for all electrical and instrumentation and controls engineering work at the H.B. Robinson nuclear plant.

1997-1998 Manager of Operations, H.B. Robinson Nuclear Plant. Manager of the Operations Unit, comprised of five on-shift operating crews and one staff subunit. Responsible for operation of all systems at the H.B. Robinson nuclear plant.

1995-1996 Participated in the Senior Reactor Operator licensing class at H.B. Robinson and achieved an NRC SRO license, in preparation for assignment as the Manager of Operations.

1994-1995 Manager of Electrical/I&C Engineering, H.B. Robinson Nuclear Plant, Hartsville, SC. Managed the transition from a centralized design organization at the corporate headquarters to an on-site unit of plant engineers responsible for both system and design engineering.

1993-1994 Manager of Electrical Analysis/EQ, Harris Engineering Support Section, Raleigh, NC.

Supervised a subunit of engineers responsible for the analysis of the electrical systems and equipment qualification (EQ) for the Shearon Harris nuclear plant.

Supervised a subunit of SRO certified instructors responsible for all initial and continuing training of the licensed operators, plant equipment operators and shift technical advisors at the Shearon Harris nuclear plant.

1987-1989 Senior instructor, Shearon Harris Nuclear Plant, New Hill, NC. Taught initial and continuing training classes, including simulator training, to licensed operators and shift technical advisors at the Shearon Harris nuclear plant.

Westinghouse Electric Corporation 1981-1986 Senior Engineer, Westinghouse Training Center, Monroeville, PA. Taught classes of licensed operators all aspects of nuclear fundamentals, nuclear plant systems and nuclear plant operations. This included simulator training on a full-scale pressurized water reactor simulator which simulated the Callaway nuclear plant.

United States Navy 1976-1981 Lieutenant, U.S. Navy. Served on a nuclear powered submarine. Qualified as Engineering Officer of the Watch on S5W and S1C reactors. Supervised the operation and maintenance of all nuclear plant systems and equipment.
