Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC Oconee Nuclear Station, Units 1, 2, and 3 Docket Nos. 50-269, -270, -287 Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR) 2011 Revision Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.71(e), enclosed is a CD-ROM containing one copy of the Oconee 2011 Updated Final Analysis Report (UFSAR). The CD-ROM is provided based on the guidance in NRC Regulatory Issue Summary (RIS) 2001-05, Guidance on Submitting Documents to the NRC by Electronic Information Exchange or on CD-ROM. RIS 2001-05 waives the requirement that licensees receive case-by-case approval required by 10 CFR 50.4(c) for submittal by electronic information exchange (EIE) or by CD-ROM. The RIS also waives requirements that multiple copies of paper or electronic documents be submitted to the NRC.
The effective date for this update is December 31, 2011, as indicated at the bottom of each page. The changes are indicated by side bars. The enclosed CD-ROM includes all text, tables and figures in PDF format.
In addition to the above information there is an attachment that contains a list which summarizes information removed from the UFSAR in this revision. This attachment and the enclosed information mentioned above are required to be furnished as a part of each UFSAR Update.

Attachment Oconee Nuclear Station UFSAR 2011 Update List of Removed Items UFSAR Section 3.8.1.1 Deleted row of information concerning the Internal Free Volume values because the values were considered historic estimates and is no longer used in any active analysis or evaluation.
UFSAR Table 6-25 Deleted a row of information that contained input assumptions and temperature results for Minimum Acceptable Combinations of Containment Heat Removal Equipment Performance as a result of changes that were associated with Oconee Nuclear Station large cold leg break long-term containment analysis that was revised to model changes arising from implementation of the Low Pressure Injection (LPI) cross-tie modification.
Table 6-26 Deleted the Note referenced in the table as a result of changes that were associated with Oconee Nuclear Station large cold leg break long-term containment analysis that was revised to model changes arising from implementation of the Low Pressure Injection (LPI) cross-tie modification.
UFSAR Section 8.1 Deleted one of the items that was associated with the number of sources of power to the engineered safeguards systems because it was considered inaccurate.
UFSAR Section 9.5 Deleted Note referenced in this section that contain information that is not a part of Oconee Licensing Basis.
UFSAR Section 15.1.12 Deleted information associated with the Westinghouse Lead Test Assemblies that is no longer relevant to the Oconee Units.
