REFERENCE:
(a) Letter from K. Langdon (NMPNS) to Document Control Desk (NRC), dated June 1, 2012, Emergency License Amendment Request Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.90: Revision of the Main Steam Isolation Valve Allowable Leakage Rate Limit By letter dated June 1, 2012 (Reference a), Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, LLC (NMPNS) requested an amendment to Nine Mile Point Unit 2 (NMP2) Renewed Facility Operating License NPF-69.
The proposed amendment would have modified Technical Specification (TS) Section 3.6.1.3, "Primary Containment Isolation Valves (PCIVs)," by revising Surveillance Requirement (SR) 3.6.1.3.12 for the leakage rate through the main steam isolation valves (MSIV).
NMPNS hereby withdraws the Emergency License Amendment Request submitted in Reference (a) because MSIV repairs have resulted in a satisfactory leakage rate in accordance with current Technical Specifications.
