MCGUIRE NUCLEAR STATION, UNIT 2 - REQUEST FOR RELIEF 12-MN-001, "RELIEF REQUEST FOR ALTERNATE DEPTH SIZING CRITERIA" (TAC NO. ME7876)
Dear Mr. Repko:
By letter dated January 3, 2012 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML12020A248), Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC (the licensee) submitted a relief request for McGuire Nuclear Station, Unit 2 (McGuire 2) to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff for review. The proposed relief requested the use of an alternative to the examination requirements of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (Code),Section XI, pertaining to flaw depth-sizing criteria. Subsequently, by letter dated March 22, 2012 (ADAMS Accession No. ML12100A084), you withdrew the relief request.
The purpose of this letter is to inform you that the above-cited relief request is being treated as withdrawn. NRC staff activities related to review of this submittal have ceased and the associated Technical Assignment Control number has been closed.
