Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station (PVNGS)
Unit 2 Docket No. STN 50-529 Request Extension of Submittal Date for Special Nuclear Material, Balance Report Arizona Public Service Company (APS) is required by 10 CFR 72.76(a) and 10 CFR 74.13(a) to compile special nuclear material (SNM) balance reports within 60 days of the beginning of the physical inventory required by 10 CFR 72.72(b) and 10 CFR 74.19(c).
10 CFR 74.13(a) also contains the provision that "[t]he Commission may permit a license;et'osubmit the-reports at other times when-good-cause is shown."
APS requests approval to delay the submittal of the 2011 annual Unit 2 SNM balance and physical inventory reports to April 27, 2012. The additional delay in SNM balance reporting is requested because the refueling outage for PVNGS Unit 3 is currently in progress and Nuclear-Fuel Management personnel who compile the report are currently involved in the outage. The Unit 1 and 3 reports were submitted March 26 and March 2, 2012, respectively.
