Mr. Thomas Joyce President and Chief Nuclear Officer PSEG Nuclear LLC P.O. Box 236, N09 Hancocks Bridge, NJ 08038

SUBJECT:

SALEM NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION, UNIT NO.1 - CORRECTION TO AMENDMENT NO. 301 REGARDING TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR SNUBBERS (TAC NO. ME4796)

Dear Mr. Joyce:

On August 25, 2011, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Amendment Nos. 301 and 284 to Renewed Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-70 and DPR-75 for the Salem Nuclear Generating Station (Salem), Unit Nos. 1 and 2, in response to your application dated October 4,2010, as supplemented by letters dated April 7, 2011, and May 23, 2011. The amendments modified the Technical Specification requirements for snubbers due to revisions to the inservice inspection program.

On September 23, 2011, the PSEG Nuclear LLC staff notified the NRC staff that one of the license pages revised by Salem Unit No.1 Amendment No. 301 was in error. Specifically, on page 3 of the license, License Conditions 2.B.(5) and 2.B.(6) were incorrectly shown as License Conditions 2.B.(1) and 2.B.(2). This error was inadvertently introduced due to automatic numbering of the paragraphs in the file used for the recent license renewal. The corrected license page 3 is enclosed.

Please replace page 3 of Renewed License No. DPR-70 with the enclosed page. The NRC staff regrets any inconvenience this may have caused.

If you have any questions, please contact me at 301-415-1420.

Sincerely, m~

Richard B. Ennis, Senior Project Manager Plant Licensing Branch 1-2 Division of Operating Reactor Licensing Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Docket No. 50-272
