Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC Oconee Nuclear Station (ONS), Units 1, 2, and 3 Docket Numbers 50-269, 50-270, and 50-287 60-Day Response to NRC Bulletin 2011-01, Mitigating Strategies On May 11,2011, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued NRC Bulletin 2011-01:
Mitigating Strategies. The purpose of this Bulletin is to require licensees to provide a comprehensive verification of their compliance with 10 CFR 50.54(hh)(2) and to request information associated with licensee mitigating strategies per 10 CFR 50.54(hh)(2) in light of the recent events at Japan's Fukushima Daiichi facility. The NRC required each licensee to submit a written 30-day and 60-day response from the date of the Bulletin. Oconee submitted the required 30-day response by letter dated June 9, 2011.
The attachment provides the ONS 60-day response. The attachment addresses the measures that are currently in place with regard to compliance with 10 CFR 50.54(hh)(2) and contains Security-Related information that should be withheld from public disclosure in accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 2.390.
There are no new regulatory commitments contained in this letter.
