UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURIREQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL TIME TO RESPOND TO NRC REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REGARDING LICENSE RENEWAL (TAC NO. MD3034)
Dear Mr. Butler:
The U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) received an electronic mail (e-mail) from Leslie Foyto dated May 27, 2011, which summarized discussions between your staff and staff of the NRC, requesting additional time to complete the responses to our request for additional information (RAI) provided by NRC letters dated May 6 and June 1, 2010. By letters dated July 16, August 31, September 3 and 30, October 29, and November 30, 2010, and March 11, 2011, you provided partial responses to our questions. You requested that answers to the remaining RAIs from NRC be submitted by August 31, 2011.
Based on our review we agree with your extension request because of the additional work needed to address RAIs answers due to a discrepancy discovered in your original safety analysis for 10 MW(t) operation. Revisions to RAI responses already submitted to NRC that are impacted by this discrepancy should also be submitted by August 31, 2011.
