NRC Request No. 1 Is the equipment necessary to execute the mitigating strategies, as described in your submittals to the NRC, available and capable of performing its intended function?

The equipment was recently inventoried, inspected, and tested. Letters of Agreement and Memorandums of Understanding with offsite organizations were also re-validated and/or re-issued, as appropriate.
NRC Request No. 2 Are the guidance and strategies implemented capable of being executed considering the current configuration of your facility and current staffing and skill levels of the staff?
OPPD Response OPPD confirms that the guidance and mitigating strategies as described in our submittals to the NRC (References 1 through 5) as modified by Reference 7 and as reviewed and approved by the NRC (Reference 6) are available and capable of being executed. The current staffing and its skill level as well as the configuration of Fort Calhoun Station was considered in reaching this determination.
Changes to commitments (e.g., as described in Reference 7) have been evaluated and are documented in accordance with the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) commitment management guideline (Reference 8).
Each procedure implementing the required mitigation strategy was walked down to ensure that the procedures are available and capable of being implemented.
Enhancements were identified and entered into the Corrective Action Program.
Operations and support staff are trained and periodically retrained as necessary on the procedures and strategies.
