Item 1: The Safety Evaluation supporting Amendment 13 to License R- 125 concludes the storage of WPI fuel in regard to If- will meet license technical specification 5.4. In this regard, the presence of byproduct materials in the fuel will not affect the evaluation for fuel storage and will not affect the requirements of technical specification 5.4.

Item 2: The Safety Evaluation supporting Amendment 13 to License R-125 indicates the security plan for license R-125 meets the requirements for SNM of moderate strategic significance. In this regard, the presence of byproduct materials in the fuel will not affect the security plan for SNM of moderate strategic significance.

In addition, we propose the following revision to license condition 2.B.(5) as submitted in a letter to NRC dated April 25, 2011. The proposed revised condition states:

Pursuant to the Act and 10 CFR Part 30, "Rules of General Applicability to Domestic Licensing of Byproduct Material," and Part 70, "Domestic Licensing of Special Nuclear Material," to receive and possess, but not use or separate, such byproduct and special nuclear materials produced by the operation of the Worcester Polytechnic Institute Research Reactor (WPIRR),

contained in MTR-type reactor fuel transferred from the WPIRR.
