The purpose of the open house meeting was to provide an opportunity for the public to discuss NRC activities, nuclear power issues, and Fermi Power Plant, Unit 2, performance for the period of January 1, 2010, through December 31, 2010. The NRC letter and meeting notice for this open house can be found in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) as ML111170407 and ML111170418 respectively. The NRC discussed other agency regulatory activities such as nuclear security and safeguards, spent nuclear fuel and independent spent fuel storage installations, radiation safety, new nuclear power plant construction, and licensing activities.

The NRC also provided discussions related to the NRCs assessment of the Fermi Power Plant performance, which was documented in the March 4, 2011, End-of-Cycle Assessment Letter (reference ADAMS Accession Number ML110620276). As part of this open house, Fermi representatives were available to address questions and concerns.
