PALISADES NUCLEAR PLANT WITHDRAWAL OF LlCENSEAMENDMENT REQUEST FOR COLD-LEG TUBESHEET INSPECTION (TAC NO. ME5780)
Dear Sir:
By letter dated March 3, 2011 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS)
Accession No. ML110680342), Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc. (the licensee), submitted a license amendment request (LAR) for Palisades Nuclear Plant. The proposed LAR would revise Appendix A, Technical Specifications (TS), as they apply to the steam generator program in TS Section 5.5.8. The purpose of the change is to revise the repair criteria for the cold-leg side of the steam generator tubesheet. By letter dated April 5, 2011 (ADAMS Accession No. ML110910558),
the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff provided results of the acceptance review of this amendment and concluded that supplemental information was necessary to enable the staff to make an independent assessment regarding the acceptability of the proposed LAR.
By letter dated April 19, 2011 (ADAMS Accession No. ML111090424) you informed the NRC of withdrawal of the subject LAR. The purpose of this letter is to advise you that the LAR dated March 3, 2011, is being treated as withdrawn. Accordingly, TAC No. ME5780 will be closed upon issuance of this letter. Notice of Consideration of Issuance of the proposed amendment to facility operating license, proposed no significant hazards consideration and opportunity for a hearing for the of above LAR dated March 3, 2011, had not been published in the Federal Register.
