UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION WASHINGTON, D.C. 20555-0001 October 28, 2010 Mr. Mano Nazar Executive Vice President and Chief Nuclear Officer Florida Power and Light Company P.O. Box 14000 Juno Beach, Florida 33408-0420
SUBJECT:
TURKEY POINT UNITS 3 AND 4 - WITHDRAWAL OF AN AMENDMENT REQUEST (TAC NOS. ME3443 AND ME3444)
Dear Mr. Nazar:
By letter dated February 25, 2010, you applied for an amendment to the Turkey Point, Units 3 and 4 Operating License Nos. DPR-31 and DPR-41. The license amendment request provided the technical basis and justification to continue to credit Boraflex material in the criticality analysis for the Turkey Point, Unit 3 spent fuel pool (SFP) until September 30,2010. Also, in your letter you stated since the Turkey Point technical specifications (TSs) are common to both units, administrative changes are needed regarding Unit 4 to clarify the SFP TSs applicable to each unit upon approval. Subsequently, by letter dated October 3, 2010, you withdrew the amendment request.
The purpose of this letter is to advise that the above-cited application is being treated as withdrawn. Notice of Consideration of Issuance of the proposed amendment had not been published in the Federal Register.
