PILGRIM NUCLEAR POWER STATION - WITHDRAWAL OF EXEMPTION REQUESTS FROM 10 CFR PART 50 APPENDIX R (TAC NOS. ME0831 AND ME3310)

Dear Sir or Madam:

By letter dated March 6, 2009 (Agencywide Documents and Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML090690690), you applied for an exemption from 10 CFR Part 50 Appendix R, Section III.G.2 to allow hot shut down manual operator actions. By letter dated February 3,2010 (ADAMS Accession No. IVIL100541604), you applied for an exemption from 10 CFR Part 50 Appendix R, Section 1I1.L.2.b to permit the use of Automatic Depressurization System to achieve and maintain safe shutdown for fires in certain fire areas and fire zones.

Subsequently, by letter dated April 8, 2010, you withdrew both exemption requests. The exemption request dated March 6, 2009, will be resubmitted with revised exemption for Fire Zone 2.16.

The purpose of this letter is to advise that the above cited two exemption requests are being treated as withdrawn.
