Dear Mr. Pardee:

On December 12,2007, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Bulletin 2007-01, "Security Officer Attentiveness" (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML073400150).

Exelon Generation Company, LLC 1 (Exelon, the licensee) provided a response, dated February 11,2008 (ADAMS Accession No. ML080430467), to Bulletin 2007-01 for all of the subject Exelon sites. After reviewing the response, the NRC staff identified a need for additional information. The NRC staff issued a Request for Additional Information (RAJ) to the licensee on June 27,2008 (ADAMS Accession No. ML081760527). The licensee provided a response to the RAI on August 1,2008 (ADAMS Accession No. ML082140867), which included detailed descriptions of the administrative and managerial controls to deter and address inattentiveness and complicity among licensee security personnel at each of the subject Exelon sites. Due to the sensitivity of the subject matter, some of the responses listed above may contain Security Related Information and may not be publicly available.

1 The submittals dated February 11, 2008, and August 1, 2008, were submitted by both Exelon Generation Company, LLC and AmerGen Energy Company, LLC (AmerGen). Effective January 8, 2009, the licenses for the AmerGen plants were transferred from AmerGen Energy Company, LLC to Exelon Generation Company, LLC. By letter dated January 9. 2009, (ADAMS Accession No. ML090120538) Exelon Generation Company adopted and endorsed docketed submittals that requested specific licensing actions that were made by AmerGen.

C. Pardee

- 2 The NRC staff has reviewed the submitted information and has concluded that the response to Bulletin 2007-01 and related RAI is adequate for the subject Exelon sites. The bases for the NRC's conclusion have been documented in a memorandum, "Security Bulletin 2007-01, Security Officer Attentiveness: Summary Report" (ADAMS Accession No. ML093440311).

Based on this review,Bulletin 2007-01 will be closed and no further action is required.
