SOUTH TEXAS PRO~IECT, UNITS 1 AND 2 - CORRECTION TO TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION PAGE NO. 3/43-13, AMENDMENT NOS. 188 AND 175, REGARDING RELOCATION OF SURVEILLANCE TEST INTERVALS TO LICENSEE-CONTROLLED SURVEILLANCE FREQUENCY CONTROL PROGRAM (RISK-INFORMED INITIATIVE 5-b) (TAC NOS. MD7058 AND MD7059)
Dear Mr. Halpin:
On October 31,2008, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff issued Amendment No. 188 to Facility Operating License No. NPF-76 and Amendment No. 175 to Facility Operating License No. NPF-80 for South Texas Project (STP), Units 1 and 2, respectively. The document was declared in the NRC Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) at ADAMS Accession No. ML082830172.
The amendments revised the Technical Specifications (TS) by relocating the surveillance frequencies of most of the surveillance tests from the TS to a licensee-controlled Surveillance Frequency Control Program.
By electronic mail dated January 5,2010 (ADAMS Accession No. ML100541304), Mr. Ted Koser of your staff informed the NRC staff that TS page 3/4 3-13 item 19f shows "P-8" instead of "P-13." Mr. Koser requested that "P-8" should be corrected to "P-13." The NRC staff has reviewed the error, and has determined that the error was caused by page 3/4 3-13 sent to NRC by the licensee. The NRC staff agrees that the error on page 3/4 3-13 should be corrected in the TS.
Accordingly, corrected TS page 3/4 3-13 showing "P-13" in place of "P-8" is enclosed. Please replace the page 3/4 3-13 in Amendment Nos. 188 and 175 and discard the incorrect page.
