OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE - AUGUST 1980 Indian Point Unit 3 was synchronized to the bus for a total of 733.1 hours1.157407e-5 days <br />2.777778e-4 hours <br />1.653439e-6 weeks <br />3.805e-7 months <br /> producing a gross generation of 551,280 MWe for the reporting period.

During this period the unit experienced two plant trips.

On August 12 at 0945 hours0.0109 days <br />0.263 hours <br />0.00156 weeks <br />3.595725e-4 months <br /> the unit experienced a trip during a rapid load reduction caused by the loss of all circulating water to #33 condenser bay when #36 Circulating Water Pump tripped with #35 circulating water pump out of service for repairs. The unit was returned to service at 1259 hours0.0146 days <br />0.35 hours <br />0.00208 weeks <br />4.790495e-4 months <br /> on that same day. Commenced load escalation consistent with circulating water pump capabilities.

On August 23 at 0316 hours0.00366 days <br />0.0878 hours <br />5.224868e-4 weeks <br />1.20238e-4 months <br /> the unit experienced a trip while placing a repaired rod drive motor generator set into service. That same day at 1057 hours0.0122 days <br />0.294 hours <br />0.00175 weeks <br />4.021885e-4 months <br /> the unit was returned to service and commenced load escalation consistent with circulating water capabilities.
