COOPER NUCLEAR STATION POWER PLANT LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION (Brief description of the conference call)

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff and representatives of NPPD, held a telephone conference call on October 6, 2009, to discuss clarifications for certain responses to requests for additional information listed below.

RAI 2.3.3.6-3 The applicant stated:

There are sixty-four interior stations strategically placed throughout the plant (where safety -

related equipment is located) that are in scope, and twenty-four stations that are not in scope. The twenty-four stations not in scope are located in areas such as outbuildings (warehouses, security building, communication building, and training building) and office buildings that are not required to meet 10 CFR 50.48 requirements.

Relative to consistency of scoping and screening, how many hose stations are in scope and subject to an AMR (64 vs. previously indicated 54 in CNS SER, 5/23/1979)? Are 64 hose stations highlighted on LRA drawings? Provide LRA drawing no and list of hose stations.

The applicant provided the following clarifications:

NPPD affirmed that there are 64 interior hose stations that are in scope for license renewal and subject to aging management review. The following list identifies these hose stations and the associated manual isolation valves.
