Supplement 18 of NUREG-0847, "Safety Evaluation Report Related to the Operation of Watts Bar Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2, Docket Nos. 50-390 and 50-391" dated October 1995 By letter dated March 13, 2009 (Reference 1), the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) submitted a request to change Supplemental Safety Evaluation Report 18 (Reference 3), specifically the portion related to discussion of Watts Bar Nuclear Plant's Carbon Dioxide Fire Protection System.

On July 15, 2009, NRC issued a Request for Additional Information (RAI)

(Reference 2) based on NRC's review of TVA's March 13, 2009 letter. The NRC's letter indicated the understanding that TVA intended to respond to the RAI within 30 days of the issuance of the RAI (i.e., on or before August 14, 2009).
