By letter dated June 19, 2009 (Ref. 1), the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) submitted a one-time Technical Specifications (TS) change request to temporarily extend the TS Completion Time (CT) for an Emergency Diesel Generator (EDG) from seven days to 14 days to allow maintenance and modification activities to be performed during plant operation that will contribute to improved EDG reliability and availability. By letter dated July 10, 2009 (Ref. 2), the NRC requested supplemental information in order to make an independent assessment regarding the acceptability of our TS change request in terms of regulatory requirements and the protection of public health and safety and the environment. U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Page 2 July 24, 2009 requested that TVA supplement the TS change request to address the information requested by the NRC by July 24, 2009.
