Dear Sir or Madam,

The attachment to this letter provides results of the Ultrasonic Testing (UT) examination of the weld overlay completed on the Jet Pump Instrumentation (JPI) Nozzle Safe-End weld, RPV-N9A-1, as specified in Reference 1, Enclosure 2. The weld overlay was completed during Refueling Outage 17.

The UT examination was conducted using the Performance Demonstration Initiative (PDI) methodology in accordance with the requirements of ASME Section XI, Appendix VIII, Supplement 11 as endorsed by 10 CFR 50.55a and addressed in Pilgrim Relief Request PRR-9, which was approved by the NRC in a Safety Evaluation Report, dated March 22, 2006.

The results of the UT examination of the weld overlay were acceptable relative to the requirements of 1998 ASME Code with 2000 Addenda, Section Xl, Appendix VIII, Supplement 11, modified by the PDI methodology.
