SUMMARY

OF MEETING HELD ON MARCH 2, 2009 BETWEEN THE U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION STAFF AND NORTHERN STATES POWER COMPANY, MINNESOTA, REPRESENTATIVES TO DISCUSS THE PRAIRIE ISLAND NUCLEAR GENERATING PLANT UNITS 1 AND 2, LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION On March 2, 2009, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff (NRC or the staff) met with members of Northern States Power Company, Minnesota (NSPM or the applicant) in a public meeting to discuss the license renewal application (LRA) for the Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant Units 1 and 2. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the NRC staffs request for additional information concerning the Unit 2 reactor cavity leakage path and potential impact on the primary containment liner. A list of attendees is provided in Enclosure 1 and the meeting agenda is provided in Enclosure 2.
