SUMMARY

OF MEETING HELD ON MARCH 16, 2009, BETWEEN THE U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION STAFF, PSEG NUCLEAR, LLC, AND EXELON REPRESENTATIVES TO DISCUSS THE UTILITYS PLANNED SUBMITTAL OF THE SALEM NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION, UNITS 1 &

2, AND HOPE CREEK GENERATING STATION, LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION On March 16, 2009, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff met with members of PSEG Nuclear and EXELON (the applicant) in a public meeting to discuss the license renewal application (LRA) for the Salem Nuclear Generating Station, Units 1 & 2, and Hope Creek Generating Station. A list of attendees is provided in Enclosure 1 and the meeting agenda is provided in Enclosure 2. A copy of the slides presented by the applicant is provided as.

The applicant provided an overview of the content of their LRA. The applicant also explained the methodology used in determining consistency with NUREG-1801, Revision 1, "Generic Aging Lessons Learned (GALL) Report, and previously approved staff positions.

Members of the public were given an opportunity to ask questions. One individual provided the attached handout provided in Enclosure 4.
