Acceptance Review for Alternate Depth Sizing Qualification (MD9785)
Mike, The following are the draft versions of the information insufficiencies to be discussed during a conference call on October 30, 2008. They are being provided in advance so that you can ensure that the appropriate technical staff are included in the call.
1.) The root-mean-square error (RMSE) values proposed greatly exceed the precedence provided in the submittal and the submittal does not provide an appropriate justification for the large RMSE values.
2.) The submittal does not provide a description of the surface condition at each subject weld.
3.) The submittal does not provide a discussion of the bounding surface conditions where the vendor could demonstrate appropriate, ASME Code required, RMSE value results.
4.) The submittal does not provide a discussion on planned activities to create an inspectable surface condition conducive to the vendors capabilities.
