RECEIPT AND AVAILABILITY OF THE LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION FOR THE COOPER NUCLEAR STATION, UNIT 1
Dear Mr. Minahan:
On September 30, 2008, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) received the Nebraska Public Power District's application for renewal of the operating license for the Cooper Nuclear Station, Unit 1 (Operating License No. DPR-46). We are currently performing an acceptance review for docketing in accordance with the requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 2.101, and will notify you of the results of our review. Should the NRC staff determine that the application is acceptable for docketing, a schedule for the review will then be provided to you.
We have enclosed for your information a copy of the notice relating to your application that is being sent to the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Tam Tran as the project manager for the review of your license renewal application. Please forward copies of all license renewal correspondence to Mr. Tran. Mr. Fred Lyon, Division of Operating Reactor Licensing project manager, continues to remain responsible for the project management of all issues other than license renewal for the Cooper Nuclear Station.
