Dear Mr. Pardee:

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (the Commission) has issued the enclosed Amendment No. 181 to Facility Operating License No. NPF-62 for the Clinton Power Station (CPS), Unit No. 1. The amendment is in response to your application dated December 12, 2006, as supplemented by letters dated November 16, 2007, and May 16 and June 27, 2008.

The amendment would increase the interval between local power range monitor (LPRM) calibrations from 1000 megawatt-days/ton (MWD/T) to 2000 MWD/T required by the CPS Technical Specification Surveillance Requirement 3.3.1.1.8 and 3.3.1.3.2.
