OYSTER CREEK NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION AND PEACH BOTTOM ATOMIC POWER STATION, UNIT 3 - CORRECTION TO FACILITY OPERATING LICENSES (TAC NO. MD6373 AND MD6375)
Dear Mr. Pardee:
On July 25, 2008, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Amendment Nos. 267 and 271 to Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-16 and DPR-56 for the Oyster Creek Nuclear Power Stations (Oyster Creek) and Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station (PBAPS), Unit 3, respectively. The amendments consisted of changes to the facility operating licenses and the technical specifications (TSs) in response to your application dated July 19, 2007. It should be noted that the Amendment No. for Oyster Creek was incorrectly issued as No. 265 in the cover letter and some amended pages.
The amendments changed the licensed operator training, qualification education, and experience eligibility requirements in the TSs to correspond to the eligibility requirements contained in the National Academy for Nuclear Training Academy Document, ACAD 00-003, Revision 1, Guidelines for Initial Training and Qualification of Licensed Operators, dated April 2004.
During the processing of the approved amendment, the NRC staff discovered that the amendment number for the Oyster Creek portion of the amendment was incorrect. The typographical error affected 8 pages of the amendment document. In addition, the amendment number entered on page 3 of the license for PBAPS, Unit 3, was also incorrect. These administrative errors affect only the amendment revision numbers and do not involve any other changes on the pages. The administrative errors do not change the NRC staffs conclusions regarding the amendments for the two units. Enclosed are corrected versions of the affected pages. For each of the subject units, please discard the affected pages from the previous amendment and replace them with the enclosed pages.
