(TAC No. MD8205), dated June 9, 2008 2.08.034 In accordance with 10 CFR 50.75(f)(3), Entergy hereby submits the attached report titled "Preliminary Decommissioning Cost Analysis for the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station".
10 CFR 50.75(f)(3), requires the submittal at or about 5 years prior to the projected end of operations of a preliminary decommissioning cost estimate and an up-to-date assessment of the major factors that could affect the cost to decommission.
Based on the understanding of 10 CFR 50.75(f) and the Commission Statement in the Federal Register (Volume 55, No. 137) dated July 17, 1990, Entergy excluded the submittal of the Decommissioning Cost Analysis Report because Entergy had filed an application for License Renewal on January 25, 2006 (Reference 1). Entergy requested and received exemption from the schedule requirements of 10 CFR 50.75(f)(3)
(Reference 2 and Reference 3).
