Description of eventlissue Contaminated liquid was inadvertently spilled in a yard drain at RSS during handling of radioactive equipment.

Personnel immediately isolated the yard drain preventing offsite release and the drain was cleaned of radioactive material (CR#1992023924 attached).

SPILL OF CONTAMINATED WATER (APPROX.1 GAL)INTO YARD DRAIN AT RSB.SPILL OCCURRED WITHIN THE RCABOUNDARY.

WATER IS FROM A NITROGEN BODLE THAT WAS TO BEDISPOSED OF.BODLE HAD BEEN LAID ON ITS SIDE TO ALLOW PROPER GRIP ON BODLE FOR VALVE TO BE REMOVED.THE SPILL OCCURRED WHEN THE VALVE WAS REMOVED.EXPLANATION:

THIS EVENT RESULTED IN A"UNPLANNED RELEASE" WHICH DID NOT RESULT IN A TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION LIMIT NOR 10CFR20 LIMIT BEING EXCEEDED.H.L.BEACHER 1-24-92 THEREFORE, THIS EVENT DID NOT RESULT IN A NPDESNONCOMPLIANCE, ALSO.I What is._ted: CONTAMINATED SPILL How Discovered:
