Dear Ms. Wakefield,
This letter is a follow-up to your telephone conversation on August 23, 2007, with Mr. Emmanuel Sayoc, concerning the maintenance of relevant documents by your library. These documents are related to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staffs review of the application from the FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Corporation for the renewal of operating licenses for Beaver Valley Power Station (BVPS), Units 1 and 2, for an additional 20 years. The application was received by the NRC on August 28, 2007.
The NRC staff appreciates your willingness to assist the public in participating in the license renewal review process. As discussed, your support would consist of providing approximately two feet of shelf space in your reference section, which would be used for making documents related to the NRC staffs environmental review available to the public. We will place the Beaver Area Memorial Library on our distribution list for future documents and notices related to the environmental review of the BVPS application. After the application review process is completed, you may dispose of these documents.
A paper copy of the application is being sent to you via priority mail. An electronic version will also be made available at the NRCs license renewal website, accessible at:
