REVIEW OF THE 2006 STEAM GENERATOR TUBE INSPECTION
SUMMARY
REPORT FOR OCONEE NUCLEAR STATION, UNIT 3 (TAC NO. MD4038)
Dear Mr. Hamilton:
By letters dated June 30, and August 21, 2006 (Agencywide Documents Access and Mangement System (ADAMS) Accession Nos. ML061870381 and ML062410286), you submitted the results of the steam generator tube inspections conducted during the April 2006 refueling outage at Oconee Nuclear Station, Unit 3. These letters were submitted in accordance with plant Technical Specifications (TSs) 5.6.8.a and 5.6.8.b, respectively. Additional details of these inspections are documented under ADAMS Accession No. ML062340511. In addition, your staff met with us on June 22, 2005, and on April 10, 2006, to discuss the results of the inspections at Oconee Nuclear Station, Units 1, 2, and 3 and the status of the your activities to identify the cause of wear indications at the tube-to-tube support plate locations at these units (meeting summaries dated July 26, 2005 (ADAMS Accession No. ML051940468), and April 25, 2006 (ADAMS Accession No. ML061100194).
B. Hamilton We have reviewed your submittals and conclude that you have provided the information required by the TSs. Our review did not identify any new technical issues that warrant follow-up action. We will continue to monitor your efforts to identify the causes of the wear indications and potential corrective actions to mitigate damage progression.
