PILGRIM NUCLEAR POWER STATION - WITHDRAWAL OF A RELIEF REQUEST (TAC NO. MD2478)

Dear Mr. Balduzzi:

By letter dated June 29, 2006, you applied for a relief request to the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station. The relief request would have modified the Fourth 10-Year Inservice Testing Program to allow the use of alternative testing of ISTB 5.2.3 on the high-pressure coolant injection (HPCI) pump until August 29, 2008, in accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 50.55a.

By letter dated July 12, 2007, (Agencywide Document Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML072010018) you suggested that NRC at its option may defer the review until Entergy provides results of the consultants assessment. Subsequently, by e-mail dated July 23, 2007, (ADAMS Accession No. ML072040360) you withdrew the relief request.

The NRC understands that the relief request will be resubmitted following completion of the independent consultants assessment of HPCI pump vibration analysis.

The purpose of this letter is to advise that the above cited application is being treated as withdrawn.
