October 9, 2007 Mr. James A. Spina, Vice President Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant, Inc.

Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant 1650 Calvert Cliffs Parkway Lusby, MD 20657-4702

SUBJECT:

CALVERT CLIFFS NUCLEAR POWER PLANT, UNIT NOS. 1 AND 2 -

WITHDRAWAL OF AN AMENDMENT REQUEST (TAC NOS. MC6210 AND MC6211)

Dear Mr. Spina:

By letter dated January 31, 2005, you applied for an amendment to Renewed Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-53 and DPR-69 for the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant, Unit Nos. 1 and 2, respectively. Both units are each currently licensed for a rated thermal power of 2700 MegaWatt-thermal (MWt). Through the use of certain feedwater flow measurement equipment, approval was sought to increase the core power by 1.37 percent to 2737 MWt. The power uprate would be based on the use of the Westinghouse Topical Report CENPD-397-P, Revision-01-P, Improved Flow Measurement Accuracy Using CROSSFLOW Ultrasonic Flow Measurement Technology, for determination of main feedwater flow, and the associated determination of reactor power would be accomplished through the performance of the power calorimetric calculation currently required by the Calvert Cliffs Technical Specifications.

Subsequently, by letter dated September 27, 2007, you withdrew the amendment request.

The Commission has filed the enclosed Notice of Withdrawal of Application for Amendment to Facility Operating License with the Office of the Federal Register for publication.

Sincerely,

/RA/

Douglas V. Pickett, Senior Project Manager Plant Licensing Branch I-1 Division of Operating Reactor Licensing Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Docket Nos. 50-317 and 50-318
