Dear Dr. Lipoti:
We received your letter dated April 26, 2007, in which you forwarded to me a copy of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protections independent review findings of the Oyster Creek Generating Station drywell shell.
Thank you for the copy of your experts report and your comments regarding the report. As you are aware, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff have been evaluating and monitoring the condition of the Oyster Creek drywell since the original discovery of the corrosion in the 1980's. We recognize and appreciate your strong interest in this technical issue and your commitment to the safe operation of this plant.
