Quad Cities Inspection Activities (Jan 1 - Dec 31, 2006) z NRC conducted approximately 3700 hours0.0428 days
1.028 hours
0.00612 weeks
0.00141 months
of direct inspections and 8500 hours0.0984 days
2.361 hours
0.0141 weeks
0.00323 months
of inspection related activities during CY 2006 z Total of 32 Green Findings z 1 White Finding on Unit 1 z No Substantive Cross Cutting Issues z Unit 2 refueling outage completed in March 2006 13

Safety Significant Findings or PIs z During a 2006 Special Inspection, a White finding was identified for Unit 1 due to the failure to verify that the electromatic relief valve (ERV) actuator design was suitable for operation at the increased vibration levels experienced at extended power uprate (EPU) power levels. This resulted in two of the four ERVs being inoperable.

z The Unit 1 White finding and related violation were finalized in a letter dated June 29, 2006 14

Quad Cities Assessment Results (Jan 1 - Dec 31, 2006) z Unit 1 - Regulatory Response Action Matrix column based on 1 White finding identified in the 2nd Quarter of 2006 z Supplemental Inspection performed in February 2007 for the Unit 1 White finding with no significant findings identified z Unit 2 - Licensee Response Action Matrix column based on all inspection findings and PIs being Green 15

Other Quad Cities Activities (Jan 1 - Dec 31, 2006) z Public meeting conducted in RIII office for EPU related activities and commitments on March 16, 2006 z Inspections conducted in 2006 during forced and planned outages and Unit 2 refuel outage for power uprate related issues z Public meeting conducted in RIII office for EPU related activities and commitments on March 22, 2007 16

Quad Cities Annual Assessment Summary January 1 - December 31, 2006 z Exelon operated Quad Cities Units 1 & 2 in a manner that preserved public health and safety z All cornerstone objectives were met with one White finding identified z NRC conducted the follow-up supplemental inspection for the Unit 1 White finding in February 2007 and plans baseline inspections at both QC units for the remainder of the assessment period 17

Licensee Response and Remarks Tim Tulon Quad Cities Site Vice President Exelon Generating Company 18

Quad Cities Operations z Units 1 & 2 Operated at full extended power uprate power since acoustic side branch installations All monitored points (vibration and strain) are less than pre-Extended Power Uprate Levels at higher levels z Force-on-Force Successfully defended the plant during exercise Validated defensive strategy is correct z Dose Aggressive actions to reduce exposure paying off 1st quarter low dose records 19

Vision z Best INPO rating z Top Quartile - Get There Stay There 20

2007 Priorities z Operations Focus z Performance Improvement z Worker Behavior z Collective Radiation Exposure z Equipment Reliability 21
