Duke Energy recently announced that Ruth Shaw, Group Executive for Public Policy and Duke Nuclear, plans to retire at the end of April 2007. The position has been eliminated by a restructuring of senior nuclear management. As a result of the restructuring, Duke Energy announced that Dhiaa Jamil, Catawba Site Vice-President, has been reassigned as the Group Vice-President, Nuclear Support. Mr. Jamil will oversee all major projects at the three Duke nuclear sites. No replacement for Mr. Jamil was announced. Also, Ron Jones, the assistant to Brew Barron, will become the Group Vice-President, Nuclear Generation and Bryan Dolan, New Construction Manager, will become the Managing Director, Nuclear Projects. All three will report directly to Mr. Barron. Mr. Barrons title will change to Group Executive and Chief Nuclear Officer and he will now report directly to Jim Rodgers, Duke Energy CEO.
