SONGS INITIAL EXAM DRAFT OUTLINE COMMENTS AND QUESTIONS GENERAL Form ES-201-2 is not complete (line 1.a, item b). Agreed, will complete the form.
There is the potential for some exam overlap between the written exam and the operating test scenarios as follows:
Tier 1, Group 1: 040/ Steam Line Rupture - Excessive Heat Transfer (in two places) and Scenarios 1 and 4 Tier 1, Group 1: 056/ Loss of Offsite Power (in two places) and Scenario 3 Tier 1, Group 1: 026/ Loss of Component Cooling Water and Scenario 4 Tier 1, Group 1: 054/ Loss of Main Feedwater (in two places) and Scenario 2 Tier 1, Group 1: 024/ Emergency Boration (in two places) and Scenario 1 Tier 2, Group 1: 008/ Component Cooling Water and Scenario 4 Noted, will verify no overlap when questions developed.
ADMINISTRATIVE TOPIC OUTLINES Does RCA JPM have radiological conditions change? Yes.
Equipment control JPM for the SROs appears to be very simple. Will be sure that JPM is of sufficient complexity.
CONTROL ROOM/IN-PLANT SYSTEMS OUTLINE Why aren't JPMs c and h coded as an "E"? They will be coded as "E".
SCENARIOS What scenarios are new, modified, bank, etc.? All are new.
Scenario 2, Event 6, there is no credit taken for this event? True, but it is not needed and is only a lead-in to the next event.
Scenario 3, does a SBO occur when the loss of offsite power occurs and the EDG output breakers do not open? Originally no, however testing on the simulator indicates that a SBO does occur. Therefore, the scenario will be revised to have a SBO occur.
WRITTEN EXAM OUTLINE Rejected K/As: 024 2.4.30, " Knowledge of events related to system operations/status should be reported to outside agencies"; and 060 AA2.04,"The effects on the power plant of isolating a given radioactive gas leak" do not have an adequate reason for rejection. Will either provide more information in the rejection reason or write a question for those K/As.
K/A 071 A2.07, Loss of Met Tower, is shown as rejected. However, Tier 2 Group 2 contains a 071 A2.09 which is called "Loss of meteorological tower" while the K/A catalog shows 071 A2.09 as a "Stuck open relief valve". Which is correct?. The correct K/A is A2.09.
