Mike, Randy, Bob:
This is to confirm that in a telecon today the chief of the Flaw Evaluation & Welding Branch, Kimberly Gruss, had given you verbal relief in response to your application (submittals dated 12/21/05, 3/1/06, and submittal to come) for alternative to ASME repair requirements.
In the same telecon, the chief of the Piping & NDE Branch, Terence Chan, had given you verbal relief in response to your application (submittals dated 9/22/05 and 12/28/05) for relief regarding the percentage requirements for piping welds.
The NRC staff followed the procedure regarding temporary verbal relief outlined in NRR Office Instruction LIC-102, Rev. 1.
