ACCEPTANCE FOR REVIEW OF BOILING WATER REACTORS OWNERS GROUP (BWROG) SIR-05-044, PRESSURE TEMPERATURE LIMITS REPORT METHODOLOGY FOR BOILING WATER REACTORS, REVISION 0 (TAC NO. MC9694)
Dear Mr. Conen:
By letter dated December 20, 2005, the BWROG submitted for U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff review Topical Report SIR-05-044, Pressure Temperature Limits Report Methodology for Boiling Water Reactors, Revision 0. The NRC staff has performed an acceptance review of SIR-05-044. We have found that the material presented is sufficient to begin our comprehensive review. The NRC staff expects to issue its request for additional information by June 19, 2006, and issue its draft safety evaluation by November 13, 2006, and estimates that the review will require approximately 330 staff hours including project management time. The review schedule milestones and estimated review costs were discussed and agreed upon in a telephone conference between you and the NRC staff on March 2, 2006.
Section 170.21 of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations requires that TRs are subject to fees based on the full cost of the review. You did not request a fee waiver; therefore, NRC staff hours will be billed accordingly.
