Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station Unit No. 1; Docket No. 50-220 Special Report: Planned Inoperabilty of the Supression Chamber Water Level Instrumentation In accordance with Action 4.a of Nine Mile Point Unit 1 Technical Specification Table 3.6.11-2, "Accident Monitoring Instrumentation Action Statements," Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, LLC, is submitting the following Special Report concerning inoperability of both Channels of the Suppression Chamber Water Level Instrumentation (SCWLLJ.

Description of Event On January 13, 2006, at 0823 hours0.00953 days <br />0.229 hours <br />0.00136 weeks <br />3.131515e-4 months <br />, operators declared both Channels of the SCWLI inoperable to perform scheduled troubleshooting on the Safety Parameter Display System (SPDS).

Cause of Inoperabilitv Both Channels of the SCWLI were removed from service to perform scheduled troubleshooting on the SPDS. Indication of the suppression chamber water level was not available in the Control Room or through the SPDS during troubleshooting.

Actions Taken Troubleshooting was performed as planned and both Channels of the SCWLI were restored to operable status on January 13, 2006, at 1200 hours0.0139 days <br />0.333 hours <br />0.00198 weeks <br />4.566e-4 months <br />.
