REVISED ACCEPTANCE FOR REVIEW OF BOILING WATER REACTORS OWNERS GROUP (BWROG) LICENSING TOPICAL REPORT, NEDO-33160, "REGULATORY RELAXATION FOR THE POST ACCIDENT SRV POSITION INDICATION SYSTEM" (TAC NO. MC5446)
Dear Mr. Conen:
By letter dated December 13, 2004, the BWROG submitted for U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff review Topical Report (TR) NEDO-33160, "Regulatory Relaxation for the Post Accident SRV Position Indication System." By letter dated January 31, 2005, the NRC staff accepted NEDO-33160, "Regulatory Relaxation for the Post Accident SRV Position Indication System" for review. Due to limited staff resources and competing priorities, the NRC staff has had to adjust the review schedule. The NRC staff expects to issue its draft safety evaluation by June 1, 2006. There is no change to the required staff hours to complete the review. The revised schedule was discussed and agreed upon in a telephone conference between Jim Kenny and the NRC staff on January 20, 2006.
