Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station License No. DPR-28 (Docket No. 50271)License Renewal ApDlication Pursuant to 10 CFR 54.17, Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc. and Entergy Nuclear Vermont Yankee, LLC. (Entergy) hereby applies for the renewal of the operating license for the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station (VYNPS) to extend the license for an additional 20 years beyond the current expiration date. With renewal, the VYNPS operating license would be extended from midnight on March 21, 2012 to midnight on March 21, 2032.The enclosed License Renewal Application and related Appendices contain the information required by 10 CFR 54 for the contents of an application including an environmental report, entitled "Applicant's Environmental Report -Operating License Renewal Stage," (Appendix E)satisfying the applicable requirements of 10 CFR 51 Subpart A.As required by 10 CFR 54.21(b), current licensing basis changes which have a material effect on the content of this application, including the Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR)Supplement (Appendix A), will be identified at least annually while the application is under NRC review and at least three months prior to the scheduled completion of the NRC review.This application is submitted in accordance with 10 CFR 2 Subpart A, 10 CFR 50.4, and 10 CFR 50.30.
