NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-182/2005-202

Dear Mr. Merritt:

This letter refers to the inspection conducted on August 15-18, September 14, and October 18, 2005, at the Purdue University Research Reactor. The inspection included a review of activities authorized for your facility. The enclosed report presents the results of that inspection.

Areas examined during the inspection are identified in the report. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel, and observation of activities in progress. Based on the results of this inspection, no safety concerns or noncompliance with NRC requirements were identified. No response to this letter is required.

The material enclosed herewith is Safeguards Information in accordance with 10 CFR 73.21 of the NRCs regulations, and copies will not be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRCs document system (ADAMS). This cover letter, when detached from the enclosure, contains information that is exempt from public disclosure in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390.
