DPR-43 DOMINION ENERGY KEWAUNEE, INC.
KEWAUNEE POWER STATION NOTICE OF INTENT TO APPLY FOR LICENSE RENEWAL The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Regulatory Issue Summary (RIS) 2000-20, "Importance of Industry Providing NRC Advance Notice of Intent to Pursue License Renewal," to inform addressees about the importance of providing the NRC with advance notice of their plans for license renewal. The RIS indicates that the NRC Staff needs advance notice of a licensee's intent to renew it's operating license to better plan and budget for the processing of renewal applications. The NRC subsequently issued RIS 2003-02, "Importance of Giving NRC Advance Notice of Intent to Pursue License Renewal," which specifically requested input for budget development beyond the fiscal year (FY) 2006.
This letter provides advance notice that Dominion Energy Kewaunee, Inc. (DEK) is considering license renewal for the Kewaunee Power Station. It is anticipated that the License Renewal Application will be submitted in the second quarter of 2008, which corresponds to the third quarter of the NRC FY 2008.
